About the Village

Lake Tekapo village is situated right on State Highway 8 and is within 2-3 kms of every holiday home. 

There is a well stocked Four Square supermarket in the village centre which is open daily from 7am-8pm.

A wide range of restaurants and cafes cater for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you choose not to cook in your home. 

There are also a number of gift shops with attractive ranges of New Zealand made goods including merino knitwear. 

You will also find the booking offices for Earth & Sky Star Tours, Air Safaris and Kiwi Treasures Information Centre for all your tour bookings.

Everything is within easy walking distance of the lake foreshore and there is a footbridge linking the village to the Church of the Good Shepherd.
